Frangelica Leo is the Founder and Executive Director of The Language Lounge. She is a New York State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Frangelica received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College with a focus in pre-dental science. She holds a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Adelphi University.
Frangelica has received a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech - Language - Hearing Association (ASHA) and is certified as a teacher of children with speech and language disabilities (TSSLD) in New York State. She is also a Department of Health approved therapist providing assessment and treatment for the birth to age three population.
Frangelica has a background working with children in various settings including NYC District 75 public schools; agencies; special needs preschools; and Early Intervention. She has clinical experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders, articulation and phonology disorders, language delays, augmentative communication technologies, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and feeding and swallowing disorders.
Frangelica is PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained and trained in The Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol and has experience utilizing ABA discrete trial teaching.
Jessica Ann Burzotta received her Undergraduate Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education and Speech Communication from St. Joseph’s College in 2009. She has been working as an Independent SETSS provider providing special education services for school aged children for over four years. Ms. Burzotta received her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Adelphi University in 2011. She is currently employed in a school setting for the past two and half years working with preschool students and works as an Independent Contractor for Language Lounge providing therapy to low functioning CPSE and school-aged children with Autism and developmental disabilities.Ms. Burzotta is PROMPT trained and has worked with a wide variety of disorders which includes Early childhood language disorders, Articulation disorder, Autism Spectrum disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Apraxia of speech, Dysfluency, and Voice disorders. Her interests in the field of Speech Language therapy include improving and eliciting language understanding and use for low functioning children within their classroom, therapy settings and home setting as well as behavior management.
Genelle volunteers at The Language Lounge to help with clerical work, organization, receiving and returning calls, and assisting our therapists with paperwork. We do not know what we would do
without her! She is interested in pursuing a career in audiology and will one day be a great asset to such a wonderful field.
